A BETTER CONTROL CABINET KEY!
A functional addition any electrician’s everyday carry – check out the KeythuluMAX Key for electrical enclosures and control cabinets! These are slightly larger than and forgo the eye holes of the OG Keythulu. I originally designed these for my own use as a technician working with automation and CNC equipment to open many of the various enclosures I encounter on the job. Without exaggeration I use this key multiple times a day every work day.
Providing easy access with prongs that fit standard double-bit style control cabinets as well as many 1/4-turn semi-flush latches and larger clamp latches. It also has a tapered screwdriver tip that fits disconnect handles, smaller clamp latches, and is long enough to engage most external overload plungers.
Designed to be small and portable but made of thick stainless steel to stand up to the torque required for stubborn locks and latches. It’s a practical tool that will fit easily on your keychain or in your pocket – making it perfect for everyday carry.
There are some design details in this that might not immediately jump out or may look like arbitrary aesthetic choices but are useful additions to the function.
✦ Everything has rounded tips to play nicer with the lining inside your pockets.
✦ The angle and shape of the ring loop helps it be easier to handle and manipulate while attached to your keys.
✦ The angles of the 3 elements let the ring and the tool you’re not using act like a T handle for the one you are using.
✦ The tapered drive tip length was designed to fit common clamp and quarter-turn latches as well as be long enough to reset overloads with external plungers.
✦ 0.100 inch thick 304 stainless steel to maximize strength and weight
These are all little facets that help what may look like a very simple little keychain become a very useful tool that I honestly use many times a day in my own work as a technician/maintenance electrician supporting a bunch of automation and CNC equipment.
